Rebuild your smile with the best-in-class implant treatment
For 80 years, Timeless Dentistry has been unwavering in our commitment to the highest quality, relationship-based care. While this dedication has remained unchanged, the technologies used by Prosthodontists Dr. Paul Springs and Dr. Becca Baer are changing all the time. And they have carefully selected only the latest and greatest materials and technologies to support the best, most comfortable treatments at our Forest Hills, New York office. These ideal treatments often include dental implants.
What are implants?
Implants are man-made replacements for missing tooth roots. They are solid anchors that incorporate nearly 70 years of design integration to help them blend with natural tissues. When inserted into the jawbone, the implant takes the place of the root of a tooth that is never generated or is lost due to decay, injury, and other trauma. Used to rebuild teeth, no other form of tooth replacement looks, feels, or functions more like what nature gave you, because implants are the only dental replacement that replaces the attachment to the jawbone of the roots, which are the vital, supportive foundation of natural tooth structure.

How do implants replace teeth?
Implants support and retain replacement teeth. After the implant is placed in your jaw, the bone naturally grows into the nooks and crannies of the implant surface to integrate with the implant. After that period of integration, a single crown connected to that implant can be the ideal tooth replacement. For patients missing more than one tooth, additional implants are secured in the jawbone, and a dental bridge or an implant-supported denture may be attached to these implants in such cases.

How do implants compare to other types of replacement teeth?
Traditional bridges and dentures are held in place by an intimate fit with neighboring teeth or gums. In difficult situations, dentures may need to be held in place with products like denture adhesive. Traditional dentures and bridges are not “rooted” in the jaw like implant-supported teeth. Since the design of implant replacements “mimics” the structure of natural teeth, well-done implant restorations provide:
- Superior function
- A natural appearance and feel
- A highly durable, long-lasting way to replace teeth
- A low-maintenance option to rebuild the smile
- Strong attachment to the bone of the jaw
How do implants keep the jawbone strong – and why does that matter?
When you lose a tooth, you lose much more than just the root. Bone and gum loss are also inevitable consequences of tooth loss. Just as your muscles shrink if you don’t exercise for an extended period, the same process occurs when teeth are lost: the bone in the jaw shrinks. This is because the body recognizes that the bone and gums are not supporting the roots, and that these important building materials can be better used elsewhere in the body.
Since the jawbone supports not just the teeth, but also the tissues of the face, many complications arise as a result of this bone resorption process. As the bone collapses, your face may look drawn, hollow, and prematurely “aged.” The underlying skin sinks inward with it, which can cause pronounced wrinkles and folds. Bone loss also creates problems with functionality. It only exacerbates existing issues with speech and chewing food.
On the other hand, Bone loss is prevented or stopped when implants are placed. Since the jawbone containing an implant continues to get a “workout” from the teeth that are attached to it, the bone stays strong and can support your tissues well for a lifetime. For instance, dentures attached to implants continue to fit well because the bone remains intact, and the structure and shape of your face are not altered.

Why should I choose Timeless Dentistry for my implants?
In part, we support implant success and minimize implant failures using best-in-class treatment planning technologies. These technologies include our 3D X-rays (Cone Beam CT scan), which enable us to locate the exact site for each implant with stunning precision, measuring less than one millimeter.
You simply get more by partnering with our Forest Hills, New York team. For example, each and every implant patient also routinely receives a gum graft. This service enhances treatment outcomes by regenerating the gum tissue lost following tooth extraction, thereby rebuilding the pre-extraction form and function.
Another benefit of our cutting-edge approach is that most of our implants are placed immediately, meaning that list teeth are replaced during the same visit that the tooth is extracted, and those few patients whose implants can’t be placed right away almost always benefit from regenerative procedures like bone and gum grafting to minimize the time spent in treatment by months while also avoiding additional risks of surgical complications.
You also benefit from the exceptional Quality Control afforded by our in-house dental lab. Our technicians make 99% of all restorations; no far-off lab is required. And because we have a lab on-site, we can create a temporary restoration tailored to your situation and place it in your mouth at the same visit when the tooth is removed, and the implant is inserted.
We look forward to “wowing” you with time-tested service and the most timely, proven technologies—call (718) 268-1561 to schedule your visit today.
